Injection Harmonic Current Differential Protection Based on Control-Protection Synergy for Distribution Networks with IBDGs

چکیده

The high penetration of inverter-based distributed generations (IBDGs) leads to traditional distribution networks’ complex and variable fault characteristics. Traditional passive detection protection methods can hardly meet the stability reliability requirements. To solve this problem, an injection harmonic current differential (IHCDP) scheme based on idea control-protection synergy is proposed in paper. By analyzing circuit structure, control strategy, low-voltage-ride-through characteristics IBDGs, short-circuit currents provided by injection-control strategy characteristic (CHCs) d-axis q-axis proposed. According change IBDG, amplitude CHCs adaptively corrected strengthen ensure that network protocols are always satisfied. An IHCDP criterion distortion rate negative-sequence component after injection. effectively eliminate dead-zone problem during symmetrical faults, utilizes A-phase CHCs. feasibility demonstrated theoretical analysis simulation results

Power Differential based Wide Area Protection

Current differential based wide area protection (WAP) has recently been proposed as a technique to increase the reliability of protection systems. It increases system stability and can prevent large contingencies such as cascading outages and blackouts. This paper describes how power differential protection (PDP) can be used within a WAP and shows that the algorithm operates correctly for a...

A New Differential Protection Algorithm Based on Rising Rate Variation of Second Harmonic Current

In this paper, a new algorithm based on processing differential current harmonics is proposed for digital differential protection of power transformers. This algorithm has been developed by considering different behaviors of second harmonic components of the differential currents under fault and inrush current conditions. In the new method, a criterion function is defined in terms of the time v...

Transmission Lines Protection Based on the Current Eigenvalues Differential Concept

This work presents a new approach for a current differential protection of the transmission lines. The proposed approach is based on the Clarke-Concordia transformation and principal component analysis. First the acquired current signals are transformed into “αβo” components by applying the ClarkeConcordia transformation. This allows obtaining typical patterns. To identify these patterns a prin...
